Sleigh Rides
Winterberry Farm is a horse and oxen powered farm. In the winter months, when snow has fallen and left a packed gliding surface, we hitch up our pair of Haflinger horses, Nestor and Ginger and offer sleigh rides to the public in authentic old fashioned sleighs built in the 1870’s Our sleigh rides take you on an adventure into our lower fields, following a perimeter around the farm.
Our winter sleigh ride experience is to our “Maine’s Ultimate Comfort” sleigh ride, a two hour experience that includes a farm tour, warm toasty fire a pot of soup is available & you can keep returning too! Ice skate on our groomed rink and sled on our gentle groomed hill. We welcome your help harnessing up the team, if you are interested in being “hands-on.”

The Sleigh Ride Experience
$300.00 +tax for up to 4 people. Includes, a campfire with marshmallows, hot tea and cocoa, a pot of soup if you would like. And you get to ride in the sleigh as little or as much as you would like for 2 hours. Ice skating on our groomed rink & sledding on our gentle groomed hill. Available to purchase on our online store, or call 207-649-3331 to start planning your special outing in Maine’s snowy landscape! Last minute openings are possible, give a call! Please note: We reserve the right to limit the weight on the sleigh per ride. Some families may not be able to ride together if the load is too heavy for the horses to pull. In these cases, we take you in groups separately, in turns.
Brides and special event sleigh rides
We offer our horse and sleigh for photograph sessions here at our farm. We work to organize a time with your photographer that is convenient to all. Session costs start at $500.00. We welcome “will you marry me” sleigh rides too. Complete with glasses and champagne! $75.00 in addition to The Sleigh Ride Experience. If you have a special event you would like to include a sleigh ride, let us know. Whether it is a birthday celebration or a “let’s work together” celebration for your staff, we can help you plan it. We partner with a local inn that works with us to offer a dinner and a sleigh ride combination package. Contact us for more details or to arrange your special event.
